1. I'm so overwhelmed! Where do we begin?
There is no right or wrong place to get started with the organizing process. If there is a high priority space in your home, that may be a good place to begin. Some people benefit from starting in a smaller, more manageable space and gain momentum as we make visible progress. Going through sentimental items is often the most time consuming, so we often save that as a final step in the process. I am here to help you every step of the way and together we will determine the best place to begin!
2. What if my house is the worst you have ever seen?
It isn't! I pride myself on helping people gain or regain control of their space by taking an entirely supportive and nonjudgmental approach. Don't let fear or embarrassment hold you back from getting started with the process-- we're in this together!
3. What happens during an organizing session?
Together, we will come up with an outcome goal for each session. This will determine the steps we will take to reach that goal. For example: if our goal is to declutter the bedroom closet, we would categorize items as appropriate (e.g., donate, trash, keep, etc.). Once this part of the process is completed, we would work together to store items functionally and create systems to keep the space organized.
4. Do you help people who struggle with ADHD and related executive functioning disorders?
Absolutely. As a former Special Education teacher, I am able to bring a lot of out of the box thinking and strategies to my clients. I adapt to your pace and am sensitive to your needs.
5. Should I get bins or any organizing supplies prior to our session?
It's best to wait until after our first session because during the process of organizing, you may be downsizing and shifting items to other areas of the house, changing what and how many supplies are needed.
